'Only the wing'
by Ula Korohoda
Almud was sitting on the highest branch of a tree when all of a sudden he felt a piercing pain somewhere near his stomach.
"Weird", he thought, but he did not get off the apple tree.
Within a moment he noticed that someone was standing under the tree, shouting something to him and waving his arms. He did not look at him carefully, however, so he didn't know who it was. He did not listen to his words carefully, so he didn't know what the man was trying to tell him and whether he was addressing him at all.
Negligently he looked around, but he didn't notice anyone else on the tree besides himself.
"Weird", he thought and he kept sitting.
Big black bird flew right over his head and pugnaciously jostled against his left ear with his wing. Just as if he did that on purpose.
"Weird", thought Almud and he stood up on the branch on which he had been sitting. Now his head was high above the top of the tree. He smiled to himself lightly, raised his arms up high, and then he jumped.
